Night Wind is an artist’s book: a dialogue between text and image, a conversation between words and drawings, between the poems of Inge Buck and the cartoons of Lothar Bührmann, with the poems beginning and the cartoons responding, harmoniously, with earnest lightness, sometimes with subtle irony, a touch of cheerfulness, or a smile. Poems and cartoons complement each other perfectly.
In this newly reissued, bilingual edition, Night Wind is also an artist’s book engaged in a second dialogue: between the original language and the translation, between the poems in German and the poems in the rhythm of Persian: a dialogue in the tension between Western and Eastern cultures.
